Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google. This is a tool that can be used to understand the complete web analysis of a website. Google Analytics is an important tool that can be used to know the traffic, type of customer etc. of a website.
How to use Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is an amazing tool provided by Google. Analytics will give us information like no.of visitors, sessions, page views, user journey, customer data etc. Follow these steps to start using Google Analytics.
Step 1: Start an account in Google Analytics
Go to analytics.google.com and Sign up using your Google credentials. Using email id and password you can log into analytics.
Step 2: Connect your Website to Analytics
After successful login, you will reach the analytics dashboard. This dashboard contains many sections like Realtime, Audience, Acquisition, Behavior and Conversion. Below that we can see admin settings. Go to the admin settings and Create a Property by giving the name, URL etc. After creating the property you will get a unique ID provided by Google for eg: "UA-54516992-1". Go to Tracking code, click Tracking ID and you can see a website tracking code which is known as Google site tag. Copy the snippet and paste it in the <head> section of your website.
Step 3: Use it regularly
After adding the snippet, Google will now try to find all the informations from the website. Analytics dashboard or home now starts showing different data including Users, Sessions, etc. Use this regularly to monitor the traffic coming to your website. And analytics will give you an idea of what types of customers are reaching your website. Information like location, age, hobbies etc will be shown in analytics
